Maybe. I had a neighbor once who's music was driving me insane! I put up with it for weeks and one day just lost my cool, went stomping to her door and banged loudly, ready for a fight. When she opened the door I could barely hear the music! I told her why I was there and she invited me in. Her music was not too loud. It was very quiet! We talked and finally decided the position of her speakers was using my wall like an amplifier. She moved her speakers a few feet and I never heard her music again.

Sure it's too loud if you can hear it and it bothers you.

But before you escalate this into a full-blown conflict, you should try talking to your neighbor. They may not even be aware that they're bothering you.

If they're uncooperative you can always go to the next level, probably your landlord. Finally, if you get no relief you can turn to the police.

Generally yes. Or at least enough so that it bothers you to some extent or you wouldn't be asking. Another problem could be walls that are too thin. Which, you can't change. Unless you put all your furniture on one wall. (not recommended) You should say something nicely to them. Just keep it casual- oh by the way, I can hear through the wall... and is there anything that you've noticed I do that bothers you? Good neighborly conduct.

Definately, especially if you are trying to sleep or study. I would ask them first to turn it down, since nobody wants the police called on them and most people are nice enough to respect that they are disturbing you. They probably don't know that you can hear it. Then, if they are rude and won't do it you absolutely have the right to call the police. I've done it before and it works well

hehe I think so but my neighbors don't. I complained that their music was too loud and they said they can hear us having sex, so we just decided to let them be--they don't wanna turn down their music and we don't wanna turn down our sex!

Seriously if they play it early in the AM or late in the PM it's probably against the law, but otherwise they're just being a little inconsiderate and there's nothing you can do.

Yes.

Talk to your neighbor, get them a pair of headphones as a house warming gift, let them know the volume upsets you.

Ask nicely and it's very likely they will reduce the volume.

If they won't... Well, call the police.

Absolutely. I would talk to management. If you have a nice management team they'll do something to stop it.. unfortunately it kind of depends on the management team you have, but I would definitely pursue it, especially if it happens more than three times a week.

First, go to your neighbor and tell them that their music is disturbing you and ask them to turn it down. Then if they don't turn it down or if they do turn it down and then turn it back up once you leave, I would call the police. Now you got me wondering if it might be me, since I love to listen to my music very loudly.
