Why do you hate NASCAR? Just curious.

There's a lot more to NASCAR than just what goes on during an actual race. I think some people don't like it because the stuff that goes on behind the scenes is very complicated, actually..it's not as easy to comprehend as 'stick-and-ball' sports which just involve players and bats, balls, and mitts and a simple scoring system, as well as definite rivalries...

I race an equivalent to NASCAR trucks in Mexico, Many people said me what they most hate are yellow flags, it´s so boring to see race cars going too slow behind a pace car (also is boring for the racer).
For others it´s boring to see cars just passing no matter the speed they said that is the same that sitting in front of a freeway to see cars and trucks passing.
For the ones that likes racing (like me) every part of the race is amazing even looking how a tire is changed or setting a suspension, or just looking an spark plug to see how the engine is doing or smelling tire smoke, etc, just imagine what we feel when an eight cilinder engine starts up or when our prefered driver is winning. For many people all this is very trivial
I don´t like other sports like golf, bowling, shooting, etc. I feel they do not give as much of the adrenaline I like and I get when driving or seeing a race.
I feel that like or hate a sport depends on every person and how their parents showed him (or hers) to like or dislike a sport or activity. My parents did not like racing but when I asked them to see a race on a speedway, they just said yes and gave a pair of Pit tickets and from there I got into sport racing. I am the only one in my family that likes racing.

Because I dont like it doesnt mean i hate it. It does get kinda boring watching cars going in a circle. F1 as seen on TV isnt all that hot either. Seems to me like the guy on pole position wins 95% of the time. There is not much room for passing etc. NOW motor rally...thats my stuff. Now that is a real test of man and machine. Its not a great spectator sport simply because of the terrain and stuff but if you can get a good spot then its great. If any of you get a chance to see parts of the Paris - Dakkar rally then you will see what I mean. But back to NASCAR...I dont hate it...I just wouldnt spend a lot of time watching.

I don't hate NASCAR. But when I got interested in car racing, I watched formula one. I believe that the skill in racing in a formula one track is far greater than racing in a circular track.

Agree with Trisha84. So much fun watching cars go around in circles for hours on end.

Also find it weird how a lot of the drivers seemingly have testerone problems.

It just seems kinda pointless to sit and watch them go around in a circle 90 billion times for five or six hours. Total waste of time.

The circle track is just boring, I find the road courses more interesting.
