No. The process of hydrogenation turns an oil from liquid to solid, or partially solid/spreadable. This is an unhealthy oil. Snack foods, fast food, and any other food that is bad for you uses this oil. Olive oil is a healthy oil high in monounsaturated fat (the good fat)- mainly in the form of Oleic acid. Hope this helps!

"People ask if olive oil is hydrogenated -- the answer is "no." Hydrogenation produces a more stable product that is less likely to oxidize and changes a normally liquid oil to a semi-solid or solid fat, such as margarine or shortening."

Olive oil is not a trans fatty acid because it has not been partially hydrogenated in a factory to make it solid at room temperature like margarine has.

Because its full of mono-unsaturated fatty acids, which are the good fats that keep you full, reduce tummy fat, give you great healthy hair and skin and Some studies have shown that these kinds of fats can actually lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and maintain HDL (good) cholesterol. It's also a lot better to eat the MUFAs found in olive oil and avocado, then eating the trans and saturated (bad) fats in canola oil, chips, butter and donuts.
