This is an easy answer, Arrest those that do the hiring of illegals. Put them in jail, fine the company's enough so it is not worth it to hire illegals at substandard wage. That fixes everything.
NO JOB = NO WORK = NO MONEY = NO REASON TO COME HERE AND NO REASON TO STAY. Really simple.

If folks that are here illegally don't want to ultimately be deported they need to fess up and apply for whatever their reason to be here is. We will allow a time to apply for whatever program theywant. After that it is a felony when caught here illegally. Auto deportation. (If you come back you go to jail and into a work program, picking up trash and rebuilding the American infrastructure.) If they want to stay here as workers only, they should make application for that approach, leave the country once a year for at least a week or so, then they can return. They should pay a fee out of their work checks every month that covers the costs of implementing the program. Employers should pay as well to help defrey the cost of having guest workers in this country (that apprently they need so badly) The workers should be paid a standard wage no less than minimum wage.
Those who wish to immigrated here and become legal citizens are a heavier burden and must pay more and do more. They need to fess up and admit they are here illegally, pay a penalty fee with the help of any sponsor or employer or privated citzen who is willing to sponsor them (we are not going to allow their whole family 30 people back in at that time either. That can come later through proper process of law, and they can sponsor their own relatives.) Back taxes, a guarantee that health care issues will be handled privately by sponsors, employers and the immigrant themselves. They must learn a workable English and swear allegiance to this country. In 10 years or so, they can become citizens along with the rest of us and use social programs such as they are. If during the 10 year period, they break the law in a major way or repeatedly in lesserways, cause loss through negligence that is not compensated fully to victims, or use social services without paying for them as the rest of us have to do, these folks should be obligated to return to their native country ...Until the damages have been paid with interest, they can no longer visit, work or apply for citizenship in the USA.
I could go on but that's it more or less it in a nut shell.
Chain migration and being born here to a non citizen would not get anyone auto citizenship. Once citizenship is established by parents, then chidren born here are auto citizens.
This is fair, organized, equal for all including the American citizens. There are no free lunches anywhere in the world and that is most especially true here and now in the US.

I think all your questions got answered here by Answerman, JuanCarlos, hadenough, and sealrborders. Why don't you read the answers people give to you so you will understand? Sure, it would prove nearly impossible both physically and financially to deport all of the illegal immigrants presently in the USA; however, we can smoke them out over a not too long period of time by simply sealing the borders tight (no pun intended to sealrborders, ha!) to prevent any more coming in, following up on visa overstayers, severely penalizing employers for hiring illegals, denying any benefits such as any type of social services, medical, etc. to anyone who cannot show valid, legal documentation as proof of being in the US legally, no schooling for children of illegals, immediate deportation for any illegal pulled over for a driving infraction or in an accident and found out by not having a legal, valid US drivers license and/or insurance, severe prosecution for anyone caught using fraudulent documentation and of course immediate deportation, severe prosecution for anyone caught making/selling illegal ID documentation, do away with the anchor baby law - only a child born to at least one legal American citizen parent would have US citizenship, etc. All these things would, over a not long period of time, cause the illegals presently in the USA to voluntarily deport themselves and at their own expense, and if the borders are sealed tightly, they cannot return. The only ones who get in then, would be those who apply through the proper legal channels. Those who have been deported because they did not voluntarily take themselves out of the country shoud be barred from ever returning to the USA again, even legally. As word gets out of all the new, strict enforcement of the laws, illegal immigration would dry up - guaranteed!
Then, without the illegals working for slave labour wages, employers would be forced to offer those jobs at decent, living wages and yes, Americans will be willing and able and happy to do those jobs!

I think first of all enforce the laws currently on the books particularly those regarding hiring illegal immigrants. If the illegal immigrants were not here US citizens would do those jobs and they would have to be paid at least minimum wage which most illegal immigrants are not.
While illegal immigrants can not get welfare benefits for themselves they can get benefits for their children who were born here and therefore are US citizens. I think we need to amend the constitution to require that at least one parent of a child born in here has to be a US citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident for that child to be considered a US Citizen.
We could also stop spending millions of tax dollars each year to translate every government form and pamphlet into dozens of languages so that people who come here do not have to learn English to function in this country. Why should we translate ballets into Spanish so people who do not even care enough about this country to learn our language can vote?
IF people want to immigrate to the US and do it legally I have no problem with that.

Cut OFF the jobs and they will LEAVE on their own!!! EVERY ONE of these SCUMBAGS that hire illegals should be arrested, imprisoned, fined, and their businesses and assets SEIZED!!!!
There ARE Americans willing to do these jobs, but NOT for slave wages!! And, ALL the jobs illegals take, are NOT just in the fields!! MOST of the emplyees in construction are ILLEGALS,and those are NOT lowpaying jobs, even for illegals!!!! They get paid good wages!!!
And I would be HAPPY to pay more for my fruits and veggies, just to know some illegal with some third world disease hasn't COUGHED all over them!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The solutions are there-get to the cause.
Close the boarders-fine the companies who hire-send the illeagals back when they are caught. No programs allowed by goverment-including schools. Might not catch all but its a very good start. Work on better immagration policies.

Answerman has this one right. Also, simply enforce the laws currently on the books ...for employers as well as those caught crossing the border.
Why would you give them $400?
