There are bible for children and teenagers. If you want a 'real' bible, I would buy the New International Version.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THE KING JAMES BIBLE! There are so many translation errors in that thing, it is just sickening. The issue is that it was not translated from Greek or Hebrew, the Scriptures original language, it was translated from Latin, which was translated......there are just too many errors.
The best version is the NIV, and I highly recommed the NIV study Bible.

The American Standard is pretty good as is the Living Bible.
These are easy to read and understand, but go to the King James if you want the technical word.
Get one with a reference, no matter which style of writing you prefer. That's really the most important thing, one with reference or concordance to help you understand what you are reading.

NASB is the best for you I think, because it is up to date english but is not a paraphrase like the NIV. The NASB (New American Standard Bible) puts inserted words in italics so you know where the Bible is changed, the NIV does not use italics and believe me there are a lot of inserted words in it. You should get a teenager's bible in NIV. I have one of them, and i like it alot. NIV is easier to read than King James.

Contemporary English Version is good (reads well, accurate, etc.), New American Standard is supposed to be extremely word-for-word accurate, but isn't as easy to read. i'd stay away from the Message though, just because the paraphrasing is a little loose in places.

but anyways i would get the King James Bible but it may be a bit hard to read so i would look for a new bible i forgot the name of it but it is translated to our slang so we can understand it better i.e. it doesnt have thee and shall and stuff like that
