First, define "normal". There really isn't such a thing when you look at individuals. Second, we don't "have" to look or act any certain way, and we certainly all don't. I have gay friends who are far more masculine than most other guys. Between my boyfriend and myself there is no feminine guy, either. I'm not the epitome of masculine, but I don't sound or act like a woman, either. I'm dating a cross country runner who's quite masculine. Why are there these perceptions in our society that men must act one way and women must act another. Why does it matter that a man might act feminine or a women masculine? Different people are inclined to different mannerisms.
Within the gay community there is as much variation in personalities as there are in the straight community. This would be similar to me saying "All straight men are total slobs." Some are, some aren't. The same is true for gay men.
Perhaps, though, some guys are less inclined to let society dictate how they act and just do what comes natural. I'd say their the boldest of all of us. They feel no need to conform to any norm (which isn't the same as "normal"). It's just another illustration that people are uncomfortable with those who don't fit into their idea of "normal", societal norms, or their own in-group. Hence we get stereotypes and discrimination.

Hrmm.... oh wait, you are working on a faulty premise that we all act that way. We don't. Some do, and that is their nature, the same way some white people act and sound like they are ghetto black or thug nasty, or whatever the current term is. We are all different, and normal is a variable, that is what makes the world so neat and wonderful. If we were all the same it would be really boring. Oh, and to the person who says that there is a fem and a butch in each relationship, not always. I have a couple who are very good friends, who are both over 6 foot tall, professional body builders who have been together for over 15 years. Neither one of them is anything even close to femme. Accpet people for who they are instead of using the misconceptions of others and you may find that there is a whole world out there to discover that holds infinite joys and wonders. After all, just because you have a gay driend doesn't mean you have to sleep with them, unless you want to that is.

nice way to stereotype "dood". and what is your definition of "normal". there is no NORMAL. this country is too diverse for that, even within cultures and subcultures.
some gay MEN (yes, men, not fems) act like that on purpose just so they can watch homophobes like you squirm. on the flip side, some of the gay/lesbian people i know would never be spotted as homosexual.
and what's this nonsense of there having to be a "guy" and a "girl" in each relationship. that's utter nonsense. it's just people trying to put what they don't understand into familiar molds which don't fit.
get a life and learn how to spell correctly.

Well, dood, I don't act or sound like a woman. You wouldn't even know I'm gay. That's just the way I am.
But, some people are just that way...that's who they are. Why do you have such a problem with it? Is it because they possess more bravery than you?

Cause they are gay. In a gay couple there is always the fem and the stud. There has to be a balance. So every gay man does not act completely like a women.

1. It's "dudes".
2. They don't try to "sound" like women, it's a natural occurrence in their bodies because of more estrogen than testosterone. The opposite works for why "butch" lesbians sound more manly; more testosterone than estrogen.
As for their look and how they act, that's entirely up to them and how they want to be. People can look and act however they wish, but saying they look/act gay is rather stereotypical.

Well since they are gay, they aren't normal. And when they act or dress or try to sound like women then that's the role in their gay being that they want to play.

I don't know, but I think the real question should be: "why do some straight dudes act gay?"
