I know it will stop it from growing and damage the hair. I suggest you stop coloring your hair. It can be addicting, but you need to set up a time line of I will not color my hair for 5 wks, then in 5 wks color your hair, then I will not color my hair for 6 wks and so on. It works you can stop !

Do you wear a lot of makeup too?

I ask this because it sounds like it could be a deeper problem. A lot of women do things to their hair when they are not satisfied with themselves in general, or have a hard time accepting the way they look. If this is a case, I suggest you go natural for a while, and focus on what you like about your body and what it can do for you, until you are more comfortable being you.

i have the same problem with my hair. do whatever you want to it and have fun but if starts to get too damaged or break then cool it off for a while. try sticking to semi permanent colors. as long as you keep it short and take good care of it you should be okay. just be aware of the consequences..layering so many different colors makes it almost impossible to get it a solid color and i have had chunks of my hair actually break off.

You are damaging your hair every time that you color it. I am sure that if you keep it conditioned it will be okay for now, but when you get older it might be so weak from the abuse that you may end up with thinning hair, or a lot of hair breakage.

I think you should try and see what your regular hair color is like to the people around you. Just let the color wear off if it's not permanent, and if it is permanent settle for a color close to the original color and leave it that way. You're damaging your hair everytime you color it.

If your hair is starting to look unhealthy then it is a sign to stop - use some common sense.
