I bought a corned beef a couple of weeks ago, and never got around to cooking it. I checked for a "Best if used by" date on the package to no avail. It still looks the same as the day of purchase so I'm wondering if I can still use it??

Corn beef precooked IF it is in a vacuum bag and is unopened and has been under refrigeration the hole time will last 30 days + but it must meet the info above. Uncooked there should be a brand name on it if so there should be a 1-800-# you could call to check with them but 2 weeks & its ( unopended vacuum bag ) you should be fine. If it was prepared by a deli or butcher and raped by hand 2 weeks is to long throw it out.

Vacuum-packed raw Corned Beef in its packaging lasts in the fridge for up to 7 days after the sell-by date (or until expiration date, if provided). You can freeze it in its packaging for up to 1 month.

Look for a company phone number/address to verify sell-by date or expiration date or ask the meat department in the store you purchased it from.

Any meat that starts to turn any color than being red is BAD. If it's past one week of its due date, and still hasn't turned a different color (on any part) I still wouldn't use it.

3 days past the due date is my MAX unless there is a color change, and then it's outta here!
