I don't agree. First of all, the South was fighting to secede from the Union. So if the South won, there would be two countries where we have the USA today. I doubt these 2 separate countries would have become as strong as a united USA has become since the Civil War.

Second, the South condoned slavery, so it wouldn't be "only white people." There would be people of all races living here, just not as equals.

Third, it's spelled "picket" fences. And what does that have to do with anything? We can put up a white picket fence around our houses now even though the South lost.

Who is "our" kind? Do you know that people from all over the world look at Yahoo! Answers?

"Would of won"? Don't they teach grammar in the South? Let's try "would have won". So while I'm at it, please pay attention to the past participle. If I hear one more person say, "I should have went...." I'm going to hit the roof. The correct formation is, "I should have GONE".

Now, how much poorer would our society and culture be without people of other races? I want to listen to Dionne Warwick (though maybe not to her cousin, Whitney Houston), and have a true genius for Secretary of State (Condaleeza Rice).

A clean house? I think there are a lot of Asians and Hispanics who would turn up their noses at the mess in a lot of White households. I'm sure Condaleeza Rice has an immaculate home.

Do you mean white "picket" fences?

Oh boy, my only consolation is I'm sure you're just some 16 year old kid. You'll grow up. (and learn to spell, and use proper grammar)

If the south would 'have' won, spelling would be in the shitter, the United States would no longer be 'united'. The south fought to secede from the union.

this is such a stupid thing to have put on the net. i live in Alabama. and when i read about slavery i am astonished. the horrible way those people were treated makes me ashamed. the standards of living they were forced to endure was so far below what we consider substandard. some people say it was a necessary evil. i just say it was evil.
