I had a few of these pencils when I was in high school and I'll never forget how smooth the wood felt even after I sharpened them. I tried finding them at Staples, but no luck. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The best ones are:
1)Ticonderoga #2
2)Dixon ORIOLE #2
3)PAPER:MATE #2

Those are really good quality pencils, the lead doesn't break that easily, and the wood is REALLY soft even after you sharpened them, even if it's not an electrical pencil sharpener! And the erasers are really good too for all three of them!!!

Go to an art store, and get "B" grade or softer. All brands make 'em, but staples is likely to carry just the #2 that standardized testing likes so much. It sounds like what you're looking for is more of a drawing pencil...

I used Mirado Black Warrior(PaperMate) pencils all last fall, they are a very smooth wood and good quality lead.

If you offend someone's beliefs, they will defend them. There is really no need to debate whether God is real or not, I don't believe in it nor do I really care for blind Christian faith type people either, but really... Who are you to tell some one what to believe? If some one comes to YOU and starts jamming religion down your throat, go ahead and tell them God is fake and the after life doesn't exist because we go out like a light. Don't stoop to that level yourself, it makes you out to be in the wrong... Because you are the one over stepping your bounds.
