There is usually a requirement that you need to take state approved courses to get your insurance license. Each states have its own regulations about insurance. So you might or might not have to take classes.

If you get hired on by a company before you get licensed, you should be able to take the courses required for licensing for free (that is what I did) AND get paid for going, too.

Just be sure to get fully licensed... Life/Health/Accident AND Auto/Home so you can be the most marketable if you should decide to leave the company you are trained through. (This will aslo maximize your income potential by allowing you to sell all types of insurance rather than just part of it.)

Please check with the Department of Insurance website in your state. It will tell you all that you need to know to become licensed and what the requirements are for CEUs each year.

Also, know that if you want to sell in another state, for me Illinois and Wisconsin, you need to get a non-resident license. Those requirements are listed also.

Best of luck!

Did your corporation habit a LIMRA assessment on you beforehand of hiring you? if so, did they disclose the outcomes to you? I additionally am no longer attempting to be advise, yet alot of the previous solutions are particularly sugar coating issues for you. The existence and wellbeing try is particularly particularly common. overview and understand tha fabric and you will desire to no longer have a situation. attempt to be common with your self and sweetness whether or no longer you quite understand the textile. are you able to describe the innovations to somebody else? If the answer to those questions won't be, then you definately would desire to do one among 2 issues; postpone the examination till you have time to truly learn and understand the textile or seek for yet another profession. As for the remark that all and sundry you quite would desire to do is be waiting to sell, it is sweet, provided which you quite want to be a awful pusher of coverage product and don't care whether or no longer the coverage portfolio you're recommending is particularly interior the main suitable pastimes of the customer. people who have self belief as that respondent do no longer care approximately their consumers in any respect. don't be that way, it particularly is reprehensible and promises the full industry a bad call. bear in mind, learn, be responsive to your stuff, continually do what's sweet for the customer (whether meaning making much less funds), and stay away from the charlatans.

Check out this web site, this is where I go to get my new employees licensed (6 in the last 4 years and all but 1 passed first time). You can purchase practice tests as well as getting all the info on licensing in your State. When you are ready you can schedule your exam through one of their centers.
