To feel good and healthy, definately as much as is humanly possible, but there are times that getting to sleep or even climbing into bed is just more difficult, and I wouldnt reccomend stressing over a set set time every night. Flexibility is important too. : )

at your age it should be around 9 hours - even 10 if you are tired
an adult can get by on between 7-8 hours but you are growing and need more
