If you're in the Los Angeles area (LAX) you can go to Redondo Beach, King Harbor, Fishing Charters available, not sure about diving. About 45 minutes South of that is San Pedro, 22nd. St. Landing, Fishing and Diving Charters. Another 2 hours South of that is San Diego, Point Loma, Fishing and Diving Charters available. About 2 Hours North of Los Angeles is Ventura County. Fishing and Diving Charters available with access to the Channel Islands. I hope this helps, the weather is perfect now. Have fun. SS

I would try La Mesa, CA. I heard after the last 10.5 quake, a giant opening to the ocean was created and now there is a huge harbour in downtown La Mesa. If you happen to live in Northern California, I would dry san fran. I have a prison pen pal who lived in Modesto and he would take his new boat out to the bay area and dump concrete.

I've always had good luck embarking out of San Diego.
