I believe that you can claim the ethnic background you were born to, but you must become an AMERICAN if you plan to remain in my homeland. If you want to be a Mexican, be a Mexican in Mexico. If you want to fly that rag you call a flag, do it in Mexico. I claim all of the priveleges and rights of a Native American. I have a constitutional right and duty to defend my country from enemies foreign and domestic. I claim a tribal right to defend my homeland from all invaders. Be what you will, fly whatever rag you choose, just do not be suprised when you are unceremoniously dumped on your butt by people like myself. This is MY land! love it or leave! No Amnesty! No surrender!

This is the point that I have been trying to find the words for. You can be American and live in Miami as a cuban. You can live in America and live as a Mexican-American. We all respect our heritage and sooner or later we each go out and look for it if we have no connection to it.

Where I draw the line is when they drop the American, and become just Mexicans, and certain of our states are planned to be ceded to Mexico by La Reconqista. That is where one thing becomes something else completely.

I have recently found out that in at least California, mexican kids are taught that the white man stole lands from them and it is there right to have them back. Isn't it amazing to just learn there is a law that says you can teach evolution in schools, but no federal law that says you can't teach hate?

Only in America.

American is just a term people. no one is just American. a white person is also Caucasian.( I am white)

1) African-American=descendants of Africa now living in America(Legally)
2) Mexican-American=descendants of Mexico now living in America (legally)
3)Native-American=Indians living in America ( Indians have only lived in America)

If anyone wants to be technical about it then the only people who have the right to call themselves American are the Native American Indians. Do we no see how some of this is getting out of control? As long as someone is hear legally they have the right say they are American. And yes i was born in America and so were my parents and there parents and there parents.

I don't take offense when they say they are Mexican-American. That would be like someone taking offense to someone calling themselves African-American. However, if you want to fly the Mexican flag and say "Vivo Mexico," do it in Mexico. If you like Mexico so much, why are you here?

i don't think its rude, I'm Mexican America, because i was born in America, but my parents were born in Mexico, i have 2 heritages that i love, one where my family comes from and one where i come from. and don't talk about waving our (Mexican) flags here in the USA, we wave our American flag in other countries. Hypocrisy is what I call It.

No. I also dont take offense when people call themselves Irish Americans and display their Irish flag at St Patty's day. (That may not count since I am partially Irish-American)
