Why did Kellogg's release two different brands for one type of cereal?

I used to work for Kellogg's Taste testing lab (NO joking!!)
Coco krispies are rice.
Coco pops are made from corn.
There is a huge difference in taste, but most people who do not typically test food don't realize much difference at all.
They released both kinds as they are different types of cereal, but with a "chocolate" flavor to broaden their cereal variety.
I know, doesn't make sense to market two kinds of coco cereals that basically taste the same, but it worked didn't it!!

It's known as Coco Krispies in the US and Coco Pops outside the US, perhaps the name Coco Krispies was already taken in other countries.

I believe that Krispies are rice based and Pops are corn based. So two different cereals, just the same flavor.

There are no Coco Pops. There's Cocoa Puffs, Cocoa Pebbles, and there are Corn Pops, but no Coco Pops.

i think she right but if you want to know a better tasting kind made by the quaker oats co in the usa Mother's brand CoCoa BUMPERS, me and my kids love them they stay crunchier in milk plus they are way better for you not quite organic but more natural mcl momof5
