In the bathroom wall at school it was found that someone had written a direct death threat threatening to kill two people with a gun at a specific time. Deans have been notified, but what can be done now (this is for a friend) because the evidence strongly points to a specific kid? The deans do not seem to care too muc about it, and the police are taking it slowly; what can be done besdies waiting for them? And what would happen to someone who was convicted of this? Much thanks!

How are you going to charge someone with making terroristic threats if the message written was in a public restroom? Anyone could have written it.

I would take the threat seriously if I were the threatened one. I would ask my parents to talk to the suspects parents and let them know that thier kid is sick. I don't think anything would be done if they found the author of this threat and they were under 18 ...Maybe they would have to clean the wall off. It would be up to the school staff and principle to do anything on your behalf. Tell the principle and your teachers. The more people who know , the better. I would talk to the suspect and find out what I did to make that individual so angry.

threats like this are taken very seriously since Columbine. The kids from Jersey are still in custody. Terroristic threats are serious business, thats why the police are going slowly. Depending on their previous records, they will be in alot of trouble.

This is very serious. The adults should be taking it more seriously. Is your friend the person who is being threatened or the one that is threatening.
If it is a friend that is being threatened notify their parents. Maybe then your friend can be protected.
If it is a friend that is threatening others. I would notify their parents and try to get them professional psychiatric help.

The person could be put in Juvenile hall with a probation officer... Or suffer suspension or expulsion from school... Just wait for the police to sort it out.

Call a paper if it is still there. Or the police. Tell them you prefer for your safety to remain anonymous. But it is a threat and it scares you--they will get it fixed.

They could be prosectuted for harrassment/threatning bodily harm. I would point it outto them first if they still dont listen make flyers and pass them all around school and the neighborhood or like the other poster said contact the media

You can't do anything to him if you can't prove he did it. You have to have some evidence. For all you know, he didn't do it. Then he would be in serious trouble for something he didn't do. I agree that action needs to be taken...but you can't if you have no proof. You can't just go on a hunch. Even if it's a good (and probably right) one.
