A while back I asked a girl to go out sometime and she said she wanted to. So later on I set up a date and asked her out. She said she wanted to go, but she would have to check to be sure she could come. A few days later, she said she was sorry, but she wasn't ready to go on a date just yet and just wanted to be friends.
What the heck happened?
Did she really just change her mind about dating, or did someone tell her she couldn't go out with me? I don't wanna ask her because then it would seem like I'm not listening to what she said. I still like the girl. I was thinking about asking her to Homecoming. What should I do. Just give me some advice or a suggestion please!?!?!

I would write a light-hearted letter to her, and toward the end, I would ask her if she would be interested in coming to Homecoming...as you really like her, and would love her to be your date. If you REALLY want to find out what happened re her change of decision, you might just as well put that in the letter too - but, think which would you like to handle first?
OK - good luck to you!

Seems to me someone may have told her something to change her mind? If she agreed to go out with you, and then decided OK well no I don't, then something is obviously wrong. Why don't you find another date to homecoming? Someone who would go out with you for you, and not decide to change their mind last minute...besides asking her to homecoming might set yourself up to get hurt considering she refused you already.

If you are stuck on asking her out again, why don't you just ask her what happened? Do it casually...be like you know you did agree to go out with me, and I am not pressuring you to say yes or anything, but why did you change your mind? Did I do something wrong? Is there a problem? If she doesn't want to answer, maybe y'all are better of being friends..

Sounds like she was just messing with you when she said she'd go out with you in the first place. I'm guessing she never had any intention of dating you and was hoping you'd never ask her out. Sorry, friend, but I'd say you deserve better treatment than that!

Ask her why. You may not like the answer but at least you will know the truth. If it is good news then go on and ask to the dance.

Maybe you should ask one of her friends about why she changed her mind.Or maybe one of her Friends likes you.
Or maybe she doesn't want to lose you as a friend .
Or maybe she like someone Else and likes you both at the same time and doesn't know which of you to pick.

Maybe her parents think she's too young to date and won't let her. I would ask her! Good luck!
