You can't possibly be serious. Lou Gehrig's Disease was named AFTER Lou Gehrig.

Lou Gherig's disease is actually called "Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis" because of poor diagnostic procedures long ago, it was discovered pretty late, and Lou Gherig was the first popular individual diagnosed with it.

Lou Gehrig was named after the disease. When he was born and it was found he had Lou Gehrig's Disease, his parents decided to name him Lou Gehrig, to go with the disease.
