I would say neither. Id wait until i could get something that was not contaminated. The lake water is where the animals dispose their waste. Its the same as sewage. Yucky.

Dirty lake water. At least that way you can let it sit and alot of the gunk will sink to the bottom and you can drink the cleaner stuff on top after you boil it :)
