I took a picture using Canon SD 500 in a lowest resolution. Now my picture donesn't seem good, do you know how to change the resolution or make the picture quality better? Thanks

sorry to say that but you can not do that much in this case.
But, you can still do one thing which makes you photo looks better.

try to resize it to make it smaller. i mean, just get a photo editor software and open your photo with that. Then check around and try ro change your photo's size to make it smaller
because. the smaller your photos is, with better quality it would look like

While it is not possible to actually increase the picture quality you can increase the resolution and edit it to make it better, however slight.

Use a program like Photoshop, increase the resolution, and make sure Nearest Neighbor is selected in options for resizing. Then manually smooth out the rough edges and sharpen till the photo looks good enough. I admit this method takes work but it can help slightly.

I recommend retaking the picture in a higher resolution unless it is no longer possible.

Retake the picture. You can always change the resolution in a program...like Photoshop. But if your actual picture was taken on a lower resolution...it will remain that way. Take the picture again and use the highest resolution. You can always shrink the pic and resolution but you can't make a picture magically be clear if it was originally crappy to begin with.

You can not increase the resolution of a picture since the missing information is simply not there.

retake that picture... its not possible to upgrade the quality after the picture is already taken....

rule of thumb... always use the highest setting possible.. it is a pain to resize your pictures later on, but you wont need to kick yourself in the @$$ when you have a nice picture
