well first you should think of the reason why your friend broke up with her. She might or not be a quality person. Also, the fact that you are worrying about this and not being more sympathetic towards your friends situation makes me think you need to evaluate what sort of friend you are.

all friends ex's are off limits, no time frame, that is disrepectful, and the world is too full of people.....that only applies if you really are a friend

If you don't value your friendship, then wait 3 months. If you do value your friendship, then never.
