i was raised an a home that my father drinked vodka, and he turned very mean. everyfriday night he would come home drunk. he would start a fight with my mom. but monday thur thursday he drinked budweiser. and he was okay. but it got to the point when i didint want him to come home. there is a book for tennagers that have parents that drinks. i read it and it was wonderful. you got to remeber one thing this is not your fault and it is a illness that he has. nor is it your sisters fault.
as far as church!!! go you have your own life. dont miss out on things in your life because of your father. emjoy it to the max. one day your father will wake up and realize what he has miss out as you and your sister growing up. do not miss beeing with your friends. are anything please i did because i was always worryed about my parents. you have one life to live!!! hes missing out not you!!!!!!

This is sad. Been there. Be very thankfull your mother is taking care of you. It is up to your father to stop drinking. That's worse than smoking. Just make sure you and your sister let your mother know how thankfull you are that they have her.

First and foremost you need to know two things:
1. You can not change his behavior
2. His behavior is not your fault.
You can get some help dealing with this from groups like alcoholics anonymous (http://www.aa.org/index.cfm?Media=PlayFlash) or your schools counselor.

Talk to your priest/rabbi and ask for their advice. I will pray for you. I wish you well.
