Why was the first human killed on the earth?

Do you enjoy asking all these questions about the first murder? According to the Bible, Cain and Abel both burned sacrifices to God. God liked Abel's better, Cain got mad, and hit him over the head with a rock.

Was it indeed envy, or was Cain acting on feelings of inadequacy brought about by his supreme creator's belittling the quality of his sacrifices? I like the idea of Cain trying to make amends by sacrificing his beloved brother, in a manner similar to how Abraham's faith was later tested, as well.
No Bible i've yet checked mentions hitting him with a rock - that's heresay, and possibly heresey.
Of course, your question doesn't assume Genesis as fact. So i'll close with an alternate viewpoint. I imagine that the first human killed on the earth was prompted by competition for resources. Much as the last human will probably die...

I guess because if he was the first human, then space-flight wouldn't have been invented.

Therefore, he could only be killed on the Earth.

Sounds like a pretty good trade-off really: kill one person for the sake of everyone else who liable to exist. Can't think of much better odds than that.
