Heaven is like a glorified version of Earth. It has mountains and oceans, except everything is in a perfected state. And the streets actually are paved with gold.

It's hard to imagine what it will look like. But I have an idea what it will feel like. Like the feeling you have at the end of a great book or movie that ends well for the main characters.
Example: "Return of the King" in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Aragorn becomes a king, and is reunited with his love, Arwen. Sam, Merry and Pippin go home to the Shire. Gandalf, Frodo and Biblo Baggins sail away on a boat. The "Fellowship of the Ring" adventure is done.
Endings like this touch something in us. Something that tells us there's something out there. Something to come. Some that we were made for. Something that will finally be restored.
The happy endings of great books and movies owe their inspiration to a Bible promise:
"Behold, I will create a new heavens and a new earth" (Isaiah 65:17). Life as it was meant to be will be restored. All things made new.

I am Christian, but not like those fanatics that protest in front of the theaters playing Da Vinci Code (it is already hard to get me out of my house to go to church, much less to stand up for hours yelling at people).
And I am answering honestly. My idea of Heaven is less and less "heavenly" as time passes. I don't like the idea to spend time with people like Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps and their followers.
I do think heaven is a beautiful place, serene and peaceful, spoiled by the company we might get there
The gates of pearl and streets of gold are in the Church's oficial description. And it kinds of show how greedy the can be. What the f*** you would need gold in Heaven? To buy slaves? Pay prostitutes?

Revelation chapter 21...The Message...".The city shimmered like a precious gem, light filled.....The walls had 12 gates, at each gate stood an Angel and on the twelve gates were inscribed the names of the 12 Tribes of Israel,......the wall was set on twelve foundations, the names of the twelve apostles inscribed on them.....The city was foursquare, the walls were jasper (like a diamond) the color of Glory and the city was pure gold, translucent as glass. Each gate was a huge pearl, The main street was pure gold. Each of the 12 foundations, that have the Apostles names inscribed are precious jewels. There is no sun or moon because God's glory will be the light. Chapter 22, the Water of Life river that flows from the throne of God is crystal bright, it flows right down the middle of the street. The tree of life is planted on each side of the river, it produces 12 kinds of fruits, a ripe fruit each month. There will be no more night, nothing defiled or dirty will be allowed in". That's in Revelation. Here in Texas.....................
That means no more tears, no more sickness, no death, no wheel-chairs, no aids, no child abuse, no abortions, no cancer, no mental illness, no drive-by-shootings, no war, no drunk drivers, no holy wars, no suicide bombers, no hate, no drug abuse, no filthy talk, and I can't wait!!!

It's described as the "city that lieth foursquare", so that leads me to believe it's a large cube. It's described as having streets of gold, 12 gates made of pearl, and a foundation made of several types of precious and semi-precious jewels. If that's what God intended it to look like, I believe it! He said, "In my Father's house are many mansions. Behold, I go away to prepare a place for you. If I have a MANSION waiting for me in a place like that, I'm ready to go home!
