or only expensive ones? (over $200) It would make my life easier but i've never seen one.

You DONT test continuity on HOT wires. The power must be off before making a continuity measurement. any meter will do then.

Some of the cheap ones will but they will also read noise from the power source. A Meggar can check continuity and see leakage. If you have a break or partial break, you might have to use a cable locator for underground cable. Just depends on the situation. Really just as easy to kill the circuit and short one end and check continuity at the other.

Try "Fluke" multimeter for brief continuity checks

Dont use a megger on hot wires.

you can used the fluke multitester because i've tried it.. but with a megger not yet.can anyone explain what's happening in the circuit and the instrument during these testing
