I know someone that has the same "problem". The vet told them that the dog is in great condition, but just "too skinny". The vet said to feed the dog more, and the person I know leaves food & water out all day & night for the dog. I say to just let your dog do his/her thing. It'll know when it's hungry or anything like that......just like us humans--some of us are real skinny no matter how much we eat. As long as your dog isn't showing any signs of getting itself sick or anything like that.....it'll be fine.

I have a Husky with the same problem. My vet was a bit concerned, but when discussed, he's just a thin dog. Just like there are thin people, dogs can be the same way. I switched to a super premium food, Blue Buffalo
http://www.bluebuff.com
and it is the only food that seems to keep weight on him. Neutering him also was quite helpful in putting an additional 5 pounds on him. My dog, in particular, has smooth coat, which is a fault in the breed. He is not fluffy like Huskies are supposed to be, and he therefore looks much thinner in comparison to other huskies. My dog is also quite tall for a pure-bred, 26 inches at the should, which is 2 1/2 inches beyond the max given by the standard. He is all legs, basically, and all of these things factor into how my dog's weight looks. He is in excellent health, but for the occasional dry skin, gets moderate exercise, gets lots of love, and some of the best food out there. He's still a thin guy, but that's just the way he is...

I have had huskies or husky crosses for over 10 years and this can be a problem in the breed. First of all, have you been to the vet about your concern? That's always the first option before listening to anyone on here;)
Is it hot where you live? Enough water? Lots of exercise?
If everything is normal..if your dog is eating enough, then it is just their high metabolism. I have used an "active" or "premium" formula in the past to get my dogs weight up, and it has worked just fine. (its basically an athlete food)
Feel free to contact me if you need any more help! Good luck=)

Seeing a vet is a good idea. My female dogs get skinny after weening their pups. Be sure there is enough high quality food available. Active dogs require more food. Huskies are built for speed and can be really high strung. They may never appear fat and have the slight out line of ribs. The ribs should not show individually. Huskies are cold weather animals yours might be too hot. You could check for foreign microbes or worm eggs in the dogs stool as well. .

Did a Vet tell you he was too skinny? If not, consider taking him to see one, there are diseases that can cause a dog to be skinny. Do you feed him enough? Does he seem hungry? Feed him a high quality dog food, follow the instructions on the dog food package see if that helps

We have a husky like that also. It may be intestinal worms but it might also be something worse. It might also be heart worms, so be sure to get it checked out if your worried about your huskys weight. Then again, some animals are just naturally thin like humans.

there are many things that could be wrong. it could be as simple as worms (bring a stool sample to get checked when you see your vet) or there are many other medical problems to rule out. there are certain diseases that can be managed but you need to go to a vet for further workup, things like bloodwork and xrays will tell you loads and help to deal with whatever is going on.

He just might have a eating disorder. You need to check with your vet just in case.

Have you had him checked for worms? It could just be that his metabolism keeps him thin.
