I think both of them were neutral. Since "God" wrote the bible and he didn't like satan after their argument, he made him sound evil. And bitterness between the two, uensued and caused both of them to be somewhat evil.

the god of the bible is believed to be a bad guy by the christians that are now called "gnostics" but they always just called themselves christians. They do not think the devil is good per se but think the thing we call the devil is in all actuality the creator of man and he is what we would call evil. He is a flawed being that is a demi-urge or half creator that seems like a god to us but to god he is puny and warped.
this is what explains the bad stuff that happens on earth and to people. this "godlet' is very jealous and wrathful and wants us to worship only him. that is why the first 4 commandments are all about worshiping this godlet. we know him as Jejovah, the god of the jews.
the one and only true BIG god sent jesucsus to give us the message about who and what we really are and to save us from the ignorance we were created in. this is the original sin. IGNORANCE. The jews killed him because he threatened their god.
IF we can learn to understand the true GOD that jesus preached about, we can free ourselves from the spiritual grasp of this other false godlet that enjoys hurting us. that is the basic gist of it.
so YES the "god" we all have been told to worship and bow down to is really not GOD himself but a mere pretender and not a very good one. he killed jesus and kills all good people when they try to save us. he causes evil and loves pain and suffering and death and that is why he gives it to each and every one of us no matter how "good " we are. the more good we are the more he loves to make us suffer. that is why bad people prosper and seem to have more success in life, the bad god, or devil if you prefer, likes them better and rewards them

Well, God of the Bible is God of this world and God of you and me, even if you don't accept it! Guess what...God IS the good guy, and your questions intending to rip Christianity apart is not going to change that.
If anyone is going overboard about something, it's you with your wacko questions.
Just tellin' you like it is, chick.

Satan is the Hebrew embodiment of "rebellion" which is considered to be the highest form of "sin" (which means that which is not Hebrew). Essentially, it means that Hebrews were expected to be obedient above all else.
Satan was actually a very important character in the Bible because he was the acid test of a Hebrew's faith.

Well God isn't the bad guy. Who gave you:
-breath in your lungs this morning
-the chance to be forgiven
-the chance to be saved
-the life that you live
-etc.
God
So who are you to call God a bad guy?
Who tries to:
-sway you from God (A battle he's obviously won)
-deceive and conquer
-kill unmercifully
-take the glory away from God
-etc.
Satan
So who are you to call Satan a good guy?

"You not only can live a new life but you also can grow in grace and power and beauty. Reach ever forward and upward after the things of the spirit. In the animal world, the very form of an animal changes to enable it to reach that upon which it delights to feed. Your whole character changes as you reach upward for the things of the spirit--for beauty, for love, for honesty, for purity, and for unselfishness. Reaching after these things of the spirit, your whole nature becomes changed so that you can best receive and delight in the wonders of the abundant life."

In the book Conversations with God "God" through the author Neale Donald Walsch says that no one does anything wrong in their own frame of reference. No one sees themselves as bad. Not the answer to your question I know, it just reminded me of this.
As far as satan, there's no such thing. He was created by early humans pre-science to explain things like famine, disease and natural disasters.

This is a silly question. Even if I wanted to seriously consider that possibility (which I don't) you haven't given me anything to sink my teeth into. Just a wildassed claim that I don't even necessarily want. I bet those little Jr. Anarchists that hang out in here will eat it up, though.
