jp is right ! & also if you see ed setup the right way it can fool you in to thinking you're watching a hd signal . ed is maxed out at the dvd resolution 480p. at less than 8 ft you can see the difference that hd is better. 8ft or more it's very hard to tell & prices are also different ed sets run 1,200 to 1,800 that's why they are so popular but hd is the way to go but if you don't want to spend that extra on a hd then go ed.

ED (Enhanced Definition) VS HD (High Definition) comes down to resolution. ED is up to 480p and HD is typically up to 1080i / 720p / 1080p
