I had a male min pin that bred a female min pin oonce when she was not in heat, but she did not get pregnant. She will not get pregnant unless she is in heat. If your Chihuahua is still a puppy, do not rush things!! She should be 18 months to 2 years before you even think about breeding her, and in that time, you should read everything you can find about dogs having puppies, and ask yourself if you are prepared to lose your Chihuahua if she has trouble while having the babies. Lots of Chihuahuas have to have c-sections. If you are not there when the pups are trying to be born, you could lose the mom and the pups.

No you cannot and if you are asking this question you probably should not be breeding. And no your female will not accept a male when not in heat.,Please call your vet or a REPUTABLE breeder and educate yourself.Chihuahua's are a toy breed and your female may not be able to deliver normally. Are you willing to pay the hundreds of dollars for a cesarean section? And willing to put your dog thru that when it is completely unnecessary?

the male may still go for it (come on it is male!?!?) but the female won't be receptive and may attack him, also she won't get pregnant. wait till she's in heat (don't force it) but as a side note don't breed her if it is her first heat. in most dogs their bodies aren't developed and although they can concieve they will most likely have delivery problems because they are not done growing themselves. so wait it out, how would you like it if someone was trying to mate with you when you didn't want to?

A dog in order to produce any puppies has to ether be in heat or about to go into heat in order for it to work. It really depends on if she is about to go into heat or not. She will develop a sent that dogs will recognize about a week before she goes into heat. It also depends on the male dog. Some male dogs are just so naturally horny that they will hump anything, but that dose not mean that you will get puppies out of in unless she is in heat or about to go into heat!

Impossible. The female has to be in heat in order for the male to advance

You can go ahead and try... I do not think your dogs will be too interested in mating however. They are not going to try unless she is in heat.... sorry.

Oh and if you honestly think this would work then you really do not need to be breeding your dogs because you obviously do not know enough to be a responsible breeder.

The dogs might do "their thing" but the female will not become pregnant unless she is in heat!

she has to be in heat in order for conception to occur. If she isn't in heat, yes it is a possibility that a male will "go for it" as you stated, but nothing is going to happen as far as getting pregnant

Most likely not, but it is entirely possible. It's all up to the female. If she postures and allows him to mount, then it is definately possible. But if she doesn't allow the male to mount her, then it's not gonna happen...

If you're up for it, you may wanna artifically inseminate her...your vet can do this for you for a fee.

Good luck!
