NO body knows when the world will end. If you read the book of Revalations in the Bible you will know how the world will end. The only way that you can escape it is to become born again and have God place your name into the Book of Life. When God decides to end the world as we know it he will rapture his own children out while the rest of the world suffers.

I don't think the "world" will end, just appreciable life on it, and that will occur sooner than later if we don't try to keep the natural environment in balance--which every person can do. In that sense we can "escape" the end of life as we know it. There are hundreds of ways we can help keep the natural environment in balance, from recycling to helping reduce air and water pollution to promoting organic farming, and so on. If you want to "escape" the end of life as we know it, I suggest incorporating some positive steps into your lifestyle (see source below). The old argument that "one person can't make a difference" doesn't hold water. There are just too many examples of people throughout history in every segment of society that have proved that statement wrong, from Mother Teresa to Bill Gates to Martin Luther King to Jesus.

The earth will cease to be in about 5 billion years from now. If this is "the world" you refer to, it will go like this:
As the sun ages, it will eventually begin to use up more and more of its hydrogen reserves. It will start to shrink in the middle as the gravity of the heavier elements it has created starts to collapse in. But it will also create an expanding clouds of gas, where fusion will still be taking place. The sun will expand and expand, turning into a Red Giant. The earth will get hotter and hotter, and eventually all life will cease to be. Then the water and atmosphere will boil away under the increasing temperature. The Sun will expand until it gets just about out to the orbit of the earth. The earth, by this time charred and blackened, will get pulled further in to the sun, and will vanish with a little puff in the sun's chromosphere.
The world of men will have long since moved on from this area of the galaxy. There will be no human witnesses to the final smoky glory of this rock we call earth.
The red giant will eventually begin to collapse back on itself, eventually forming a white dwarf. This star will burn on, for a few more millenia, before starting to fade...red dwarf, brown dwarf, then black cinder. The heat will be gone, and only the remaining pile of heavy elements-iron, silicon, carbon..willl be left. The earth by this point will now only exist as gas that fills the void of our solar system. This gas will eventually get cooler and cooler as smaller interactions suck away the last of the heat energy. And finally, it will be so dispersed among the stars so as to never be identifiable as a planet again.

Hmm.. When.. I can't say.. don't think anyone can say. But how, well many ways.. we can destroy it ourselves(much likely), natural cause, diseases or maybe because of space debris.
Can we escape it? Well.. depends on whether we can find a way to escape it and know in advance what will destroy world. Some are likely to survive as long as the earth remains together physically.

God is the only one that knows when the world will end but in the Bible it says there will be signs of the end! and "no" you cannot escape it.We are all committed to the first death! But you can escape the damnation of the second death by believing in God and becoming a "child of God"

The world will end when the Universe decides it will. Our star will bloat to a red giant in a few billions years, bathing earth with lethal heat. The way to escape as a species? Simple: a diaspora. We need to get off planet and spread to other stars. We need to figure out how to get humanity to other planet's or other stars to survive. NASA is doing it's part, but we can always welcome help from inventors and maverick's. Let's gear up people!
