Most do not have a problem with Christianity when it comes to it's teachings on morality...
Rather, they have a problem with the inane and facile arguments proposed by hard-line, dogmatic Christians on such subjects as the 'Theory of Creation vs. The Theory of Evolution'. For these narrow-minded individuals, no matter what one says or how one says it, if it goes against Scripture --- then THEY ARE WRONG!
Fundamentalist Christians fail to understand that The Bible is little more than a collection of imaginary causes and effects, and it distresses them intensely when you point it out to them.
That's why I seldom even try to make a point with them anymore: It's like beating a Savior to death, only to have the Savior keep resurrecting himself to be beaten to death again, and again, and again...
"The Christian conception of God…- is one of the most corrupt conceptions of God arrived at on earth.: perhaps it even represents the low-water mark in the descending development of the God type. God degenerated to the contradiction of life, instead of being its transfiguration and eternal Yes! In God a declaration of hostility towards life, nature, the will to life! God the formula for every calumny of ‘this world’, for every lie about ‘the next world’! In God nothingness defied, the will to nothingness sanctified!..."

I think there are 3 main reasons that people think Christianity is B.S.
1. Some Christians are very judgemental, even of other Christians. So when people that don't have a set belief system see that kind of behavior they think we are all full of crap. We should not put down Gay people, or anyone that has made mistakes in life. The bible says: "Judge not lest ye be judged." Jesus did not associate with only the rich, and fine upstanding people in society of that time. So why should we separate ourselves as Christans from people that may need saving the most.
2. Some Christians tend to be too pushy. If someone dosn't want to hear about the bible, respect that and love them where they are. Hang out with them, and be friends, but you don't have to shove the bible down their throats all the time.
3. Some Christan don't practice what they preach. We all know the one that go to Church on Sunday, and sleep around on Monday. If people see you do that how can you expect them to think that what you believe is not a crock.
If you are serious about being a Christian you have to live a life that reflects God's love. You have to be a representative of God. We are not perfect, and we will make mistakes also, but we need to repent then and move on.l

The problem is the Church has been always fooled by the Rich and Powerful, who have the most money to give the Church. So when people see One Side of the Government passing laws to benefit the Rich, people think all Christians are B.S.
This was the same problem 2000 years ago. A man was nailed to the cross by folks who were the powerful people in that day. They felt he was a threat to their Church and money. Seems like the Church today is doing the same thing.

Now.. world would be a better place if we just followed common sense or atleast if that's not within someone's reach.. learn from others or the history. As far as Bible goes, that may be one of the options but why do u want everyone to follow just that very option. There are many other holy, religious, spiritual or self-development books that one could follow?

the issue is that in some stories, it seems that bad thigns are rewarded. the story of jacob, rachel, and leah come sto mind. jacob wants rachel, but rachel's dad tricks him into marryign leah. so then jacob works again to get rachel and he does. now he was two wives. (genesis29:28) i thought you were only supposed to have one? and then leah is jealous of rachel's good ooks, so god gives her the ability to have a lot of babies. and then rachel gets jealous so god lets her have babies. this just makes it seem was if god's rewarding jealousy. (genesis 30:1-2)
then the story of lot. after lot and his daughters flee, the daughters think they are the last on earth and get their dad drunk and sleep with him (genesis 19:32-36). i really thought that incest was frowned upon in christianity.
also, the people that say they are chistians often do things against the religion. it makes it seem that since they're christians and go to church once a week, they can treat others like crap and refuse to help others, even family. it's these kind of christians that really annoy people and that reinforce the idea that christianity is just some excuse for people to be asses. it's not the religion persay that peopel think is b.s., it's the people that act in a rather unchristian manner.

The devil has a million ways to deceive - especially to shine the light on one bad moment one Christian may have and make it look as if this is the way Christians are in general. The best way to compensate for that, is to do your best to let you life shine and be a living epistle, read of men. Which means, you may be the only Bible some people may ever read.

The world would absolutely be a better place, but it will not happen.
A lot of people will not accept what the Bible says simply because once you read all of it most people find out that they have been acting like jerks and must change.

If we completely ignore the history of Christianity, what you say is marginally true.
The bible requires Christians to murder non-Christians who refuse to convert (subject to individual interpretation). As an atheist, I cannot support that doctrine.
Thanks for the offer, but I don't feel a need for an imaginary friend or a philosophy that requires accepting contradictory nonsense as fact.

the bible is full of stories to show us a better way of life and not to fall into the snares that will give a bad quality of life. that is why it tells us the stories that are not so good in the bible. look at it this way........the bible is your road map to eternal life. you can follow it and reach heaven or get sidetracked on a toll road and have to stop and ask directions when you realize you are lost. the most important thing is to get back on that road that that map shows us and remember only jesus was able to never get lost on the way. he knows the way to heaven so if you find yourself lost just call on him and he will lead you.
