well if the price is right and the car was fixed properly then maybe. But one thing: if you have full coverage insurance and are in a wreck, they won't give you blue book value, they will give you a lot less. Most likely they will total the car. I had a friend who had a land rover discovery that had a salvage title and was rear ended in the snow. The BB value was 8 grand, but they only gave him 4 (and the wreck was not even his fault). He had to buy another car with only 4K

No, there are cases where the car is ALMOST as good as if it were not salvaged. You need to be careful and ask a lot of questions. What caused it to be salvaged? Accident, flood, theft recovery?
Who repaired it? A Dealer, A reputable body shop, a shade tree mechanic?
Drive it to a mechanic and tell him the answers to the above questions. Remember when you negotiate a price that the car will never have the same value as an unsalvaged car.

I have a car with a salvaged title. I have been using it for 3 years now, Never done any work on it since 3 years besides changing the oil. It had drowned under water in the flood, after a couple of oil changes .. it has worked like a new car.

I would reccomend it if it is a sweet deal.
