Its the word again. They don't know the difference. Maybe some will look it up
Illegal or legal--maybe repeat post and they will see the difference. Sometimes it takes that to understand. Than we can work on what raciest is.

Clueless

I think the problem is how people refer or treat the illegal immigrants. Cause after all they are human beings that are looking for better life even if that cost them their life. I'm against illegal immigrants, but that doesn't give mean illegal immigrants should be treated badly. Being anti-illegal immigrants is not being a racist, just the way you refer or treat them.

No, it's because the vast majority of anti-illegal-immigration people only care about MEXICAN illegal immigrants. If there were a bunch of English illegal immigrants here, working in the fields and doing construction, those same people wouldn't say a word. But because the Mexican (and from other parts of central/south america) illegal immigrants look different, speak a different language, and have a different culture...there's a big to-do over them. It IS racism, plain and simple.

Fine line between anti-ILLEGAL immigrant, and anti-immigrant.

By applying the word - ILLEGAL, and then by making the law tough (e.g. only 145,000 work related visa a year), that is a round-about way to being a racist. Looks like one is against IMMIGRATION per se.

Agaisnt IMMIGRATION could be perceived as being racist, especially in a country made up of immigrants.

Take a look at spendaralla or hippieguitarist's questions! Seriously! Most of the people (especially on here) are racist. They dont like illegal immigrants not only because of the law they broke, but also because they are not white, or not American.

It shouldn't be said, because a Hispanic person could love his fellow Hispanics, but be totally against illegal immigration. It's just an excuse to call someone a racist.

In a nutshell, the situation is this: Mexico and points south aren't doing so hot economically, or more to the point, their populations are expanding because of heavy catholic influence, and their economies aren't keeping pace. I'm not saying they're stupid, just that the Church has a heavier influence there than school does, apparently. Mexico, more than anything else, would like to 'grow' its' way right on into the United States. Call it 'screwing for victory'. Well, the person they're screwing is the american citizen, which doesn't have effective clear-headed representation in Washington, apparently, or the border business would be a done deal and Mexico would be on notice to start calling its' people home, which is long-overdue anyway. Bush is going to have to put his foot in Fox's pee-pee on this one in order to elicit the necessary policy changes, I think, and there's no two ways about it. Mexico wants. Mexico thinks it's going to get. Well, no Mexico isn't going to get, either, because a lot more american voters are now largely opined that it's time to cut, chop, hack, and slash a lot of the 'minority advantage'(read WELFARE) programs that have been 'promoting growth' etc and basically acting as 'bait' to encourage more and more people from mexico to come to the United States.

This is one of those issues that really gets at the core of some of our problems, no one is 'entitled' to a free ride because of ethnicity, either in the form of handouts or a blind eye from the law, and the basic fact remains that people from mexico and the REST of central america that come to live in america illegally are law-breakers. Maybe it's not a felony, maybe they haven't killed anybody, but this is a biggie, and it needs to get resolved and thoroughly addressed. Mexico does not, nor will they ever, write american domestic policy. Come to think of it though, neither have we, really, which is where we got into this mess in the first place. Show YOUR community spirit by picking up your own trash etc., don't hire Jose to do it, and don't be afraid to write to your city council, either, and ask them what their position on illegal immigration is. We live in a country called The United States Of America. Mexico would ALSO like to be The United States Of America. They'd really like their land back, please, if it's not too much trouble, you weren't really USING arizona for anything anyway, were you? LOLOL It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And, for the people that say 'you just hate latinos', I have this to counter with: I could care less where you're from, if you wanna live in america, do it LEGALLY. There's 6.5 billion people in the world. If they all move to america, or try, it's gonna cause chaos.
I say 'work to fix YOUR country', stop trying to hack your way into america by hook or by crook.

It's NOT true, and I don't believe that makes me or anyone else who agrees with me a racist either....the only people who feel that is true are the ILLEGAL immigrants themselves!!! Stay strong.

Hi -
I know this might be really, really hard to understand, but...

1. LEGAL immigration = GOOD
2. ILLEGAL immigration = BAD

Now read that again three times.
Hope this helps.

Because most of the people anti-illegal immigration don't like the immigrants because they are latin.

Because all most anti-illegal people say is "Learn English or go home!", which is not necessarily racist, but ethnocentric at the very least.
