Most people feel the same way ....you have to picture yourself driving like a pro and visualize your self passing and driving to your friends home and showing your license.
You are picturing the worst case scenario and making yourself under confident. It is a whole year away and you should practice with someone who won't yell at you ...until you are confident enough to take the test. The worst thing that could happen is that you fail the first time and have to take a bus. It isn't so bad...I failed the first time because I didn't come to a complete stop before crossing a sidewalk. DOn't worry about what has not happened but how you can prevent bad things from happening by practicing. I wish everone took it as seriously as you do. Good luck

Practice practice practice! And find a good instructor or school. I was recently a volunteer instructor at a "Teen Street Survival" driving school where a bunch of us from the motorsport community (race & rally drivers) got together to teach students from a local high school how to pull a car back from the edges of control, in a safe environment. It was very helpful, but mostly it was an INCREDIBLE amount of fun for everybody. The local Coast Guard air station let us use one of their runways, so we wetted it down (and added dish soap to make it extra slippery), set up a bunch of orange cones, and let the students see what happens when a car skids, and how to get it under control when that starts. It was a blast for us all.

it is not easy I just got mine a couple months ago and I was so scarred, but if you fail you can always take it again. don't tell anyone but the person who is taking you that you are taking it it's like a jinks or something and if no one knows and you fail it no biggie but if people know then it is embarrising neither of my parents knew I was taking it just my step mom oh ya and remember to check your blind spots and to use ur blinker when pulling away from the curb don't speed and don't worrie about the parallel parking they give you a hudge spact to park in. you will never have a space that big in real life...I would tell you not to be nervous, but I know it wouldn't work because people told me the same thing and I was still nervous as crap....so I will just wish you good luck

You worry too much. If you keep thinking this way it will prevent you from ever driving confidently. You have to feel comfortable with the fact that you are familiar with the rules of the road and when to apply them, you have good control of the vehicle and the instructor who is used to first timers. Get to know the vehicle, it's size, the feel of the brake, how it reacts to your inputs. When you have that confidence then you can drive safely. Good luck and take a deep breath.

If u think ur gonna fail, then u are. think positive w/o being too confident. but if u really feel that u aren't ready for this, wait until u are. If u believe in prayer, then do that B4 u get behind the wheel, in practice, and on the test. Good Luck, and God Bless

Everyone is scared, and you should be there are a lot of nuts out there, but be safe. I failed my first time and it just takes practice! You wont crash, just study and remember how to park uphill on a curb they always ask that.

practice a lot!
I started by practicing in an empty parking lot. No other cars out there to hit! Once you get used to how the car feels, you can try driving on streets.

I was scared too, but once I got there everything just came to me. You will do great! And before too long it will be second nature.
