They held one of my relatives for 6 hours just to ask why she spends half the year here and half in Panama.

They also kept me for three hours, removed everything that I had in my pockets (they put it in bags) and made me wait among suspicious people, even after presenting valid documentation.

Of course my blonde friend passed with an expired drivers license... If they keep doing racial profiling, one of these days they are going to be sued... Any lawyer there ready to make big bucks with class action suing?

Traveling is always a challenge, and the 21st century is a Brave New World, indeed. Who would have ever envisioned that we'd see 'show me your papers' come to america, but that's exactly what's happened...but our major problems are at the border, and that's how people get in. Does she support protecting america?
Can she be patient enough to let the authorities do their job etc., or is she so indignant that any delays are simply unacceptable?
What's she getting all indignant about, anyway? What's so great about Panama?

Since when does the border patrol harass american citizens?
Maybe one of your relatives was causing some problems. I would of held them up longer than 6 hours.

I've had pat downs at airports, and have been taken aside with my kids to have my luggage gone through item by item, just on the luck of the draw. Unfortunately, with terrorists out there, that is just how things are.

Unfortunately, with illegal aliens trying to cross the border, that is probably the way things are too.

I hope so.

yeah, that better safe than sorry answer is scary. Too many people think like that.

If your relative had identification, they shouldnt have held her for six hours...thats ridiculous.
