I am looking for a spot for my wedding ceremony in and around St. Louis, MO. I have found a reception hall, which is gonna end up costing $1460. with a buffet, dinning hall, and DJ.

I need a place for the ceremony that is cheap. I want it to look nice but I need it to be affordable. We dont have anyone we know that has a nice backyard or home to have it in. I need suggestions please. The wedding would be in Oct, next year.

I have attached a link that has several locations in the St. Louis metro area. Maybe one of them will fit your budget. If not you can always use a park or city garden. I use this site quite a bit. I am in Springfield and planning my wedding for next May. =)

Missouri is known for its wineries.... There are great B&B in St. Charles and, a liitle further down I-44 ther is St. James (about 70 miles West). Wineries offer a romantic atmosphere, excellent outdoor scenery, and some have their own resturant and B&B. Have you consider a farm? This is an unexpensive choice and you can go creative with a Horse theme wedding...Also, local parks can give you the outdoor scenery that you would like and you only have to ask for a permit, some of them have gazebo's fr pics too. What about Grant's Farm? I don't know if they are open for weddings, they are sure open for other type of celebrations, they cater german-themed food, parking is free for your guests too, if you are going informal on a budget, you might consider this too. Also, try something in the neighboring state of ILLINOIS, they might have cheaper rates. Congratulations and good luck to you both.

I agree with the first answer, last yr this time I was busy planning my October 1st wedding and I was on the knot.com everyday almost al day if I was off from work. They have many other local girls on thier St. Louis board that can help you, I know they were very helpful to me .
October is good month to get married, not too hot and not too cold. Just rainey sometimes. So take that into consideration.

Lafayette Square has a great park. Or if you want a little more funky, Laumeier Scupture Park. Yes, it would be chilly out but it could be a short ceremony. Jefferson Brrks has a lookout point that overlooks the Mississippi. What about Botanical Gardens?

The cost depends on the size of your guests. A large wedding requires guests to have a place to sit. A small wedding can be simpler with the OPTION to have chairs, decor etc. There are lots of ideas on this blog by Carolyn Burke - Wedding Liaison http://www.weddingliaisonblog.com

look just outside the big city to find better deals. generally the big cities will have higher priced places.
