lol. my cats do that all the time. cats are nocturnal. we had one cat that would wake my parents up at 3 every morning just to go out. i also have one cat that will scratch at my door till i get up and let her in or just ignore her. its just in the nature of cats. so no you aren't the only one. i found that if they realize that you arent going to do what they want when you want them to they kinda give up.

I have 4 cats and they do the same thing.. they cause such a commotion about 4 am it is just insane. They do it almost everyday. Then between 6 and 8am they stop and go to sleep.
Damned cats!

Do you feed her shortly after she wakes you? If so then there's your answer... it could alternatively be that she knows you are active during the day and she wakes you up in case you don't wake up early enough. And of course, being a nocturnal creature, she then goes to sleep herself!

Cats are nocturnal and sometimes they get bored, but once you're up, it's day, and so they go to sleep. My cat actually paws at my eyelids in the middle of the night. And sometimes she demands to go outside (I hate letting her out, but nobody sleeps if she doesn't get what she wants.) and then she demands to come back in in the middle of the night and yowls so loud she gets my dog and all the dogs in the neighborhood howling. She's lucky I love her.

My cat does it to me all the time. She wants me to do something for her. So I'll get her some food or whatever and she normally doesn't eat it and goes back to sleep.
