A birdhouse or televisionstand is what I'd like to make. Home Depot and Menards cuttings were too big!

Go for a drive, there are new homes being built every where. They have tons of scraps that go into the dumpster. Go dumpster diving, or just ask someone on the site for the cut offs. Its easy, its free and you can get all you need.

Peewee, Ask for adult help, I'm sure someone would help you, or if your doing this one on your own, try looking for a cabnet making shop or a wood working shop in your area they might have some good scraps you could use.
don't forget, most home depot have bird house kit projects, and hold class at the store to show you how to build it. kool hugh! good luck in your projects.
