There are also some free services for this, like http://www.no-ip.com/ You leave a little program running on the remote pc, and instead of typing in it's ip to reach it you can type something like username@no-ip.org or whatever, and it will forward you to whatever the pc's ip is at the time.

Yes you can using PC Anywhere, it uses a remote program to dial the pc you want, but if your taking broad band ip adresse, i am unsure

Make an account on dyndns and associate your computer with a name.. then you can connect from anywhere using that name. It's easy and free.
