I really don't want to change my phone number, but I just want a way to keep my EX-BOYFRIEND from calling me and harassing me about 10 times a day.

Call your local phone company, tell them you want either call blocker or selective call blocker added to your phone. Ask then ask them to send you the instructions on how to activate that service. Either way, you can block the number (or numbers) the ex is calling from. If that is not an option, I would suggest getting a caller-ID and either voicemail or an answering machine so you can screen the calls.

Have you considered a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) or NCO (No Contact Order)? They are usually available in most areas, and are fairly easy to get under your circumstances. If you are low income, most courts will waive or greatly reduce the fee. Then, if your ex calls, he goes to jail.

Another way to deal with him, a rather amusing way, is to get selective call forwarding added to your phone. Once you get it activated, set it up so every time he tries to call you, he will be automatically forwarded to another number (without his realizing it). I would pick a fun number to forward his calls to- the local mental health crisis hotline, the local police department dispatch, the local fbi office, the alcoholics anonymous hotline, or maybe a local nudist resort.

I agree with the first response, not answering the phone. Can you block the number he's calling from? If neither of these work, do you have a male friend or family member with a loud, deep voice who could answer and let him know to STOP calling? Sometimes that works... Def not a pleasant situation to be in, good luck!

Since the 80's, women have been screening phone calls with answering machines. Visit your local Sears or Wal-Mart and get a machine, and only answer calls from people you want to talk to (or call them back). For a few weeks, you will have dozens of messages from your ex, but he may level off.

Call the phone company. If he hasn't gotten the idea yet, tell him one last time, then report him to the police and get a restraining order against him. You can't be too careful. When it's over, it's over.
