the greatest love story ever is mine. i met my husband 10 years ago when i was 15 and i became pregnant when i was 17. my parents would have made me get an abortion and forbid me to see him. we ran away for 2 months and lived in an abandoned house outside of town where our friends and close cousins brought us food and supplies. we were finally discovered, but i was too far along so my parents couldnt make me get rid of the baby. i was not aloud to see him, but we found ways to see eachother. it seemed like the most terrible time in my life, but we are still together and still madly in love with three little girls.

Alright, alright, no need to get all hostile on us, here. I have to say that I usually don't read love stories, but I read this one recently that this lady wrote. She is a Johnny Depp fan such as myself, and Johnny was a main character, of course. It was very well written and certainly sexy!! I keep having flashbacks of the story, it was just remarkable!
I must look into the "Gift of the Maji", though, apparently.

My father was in town on one week leave before being shipped off to war. Met my mother his first night in town ( She was working as a waitress in a restarant He decided to eat at ) He asked her out. They went out every night that week. The last night He was in town He told her " I'm not leaving without you. They went to the Justice of The Peace, got married, had 3 children, and were together 47 years. ( until my mother passed away ) And who says there's no such thing as love at first sight?

I wrote it. And I live it.
In February 1988, I was sitting in The Red Rooster Pub in Jacksonville, Alabama, enjoying a beverage with friends. And then HE walked in: black boots, black Levis, white t shirt so clean it would blind you, and a black leather jacket. A 1950's flashback with an INXS twist. He sauntered past and gave me a nod.
I turned to my friend and said, "Todd! Who's the guy with the hair?"
"That's Donny Jones - he makes straight A's and he's real arrogant about it."
My response was, "I don't care. I want him."
And I meant it.
I started hanging out with his crowd and trying to show up where I thought he'd be. One night, my friend stopped us by his house to talk about an assignment with his room-mate - and left me there. Got in her car and left! So, guess who had to give me a ride home?
In late June, this same friend cooked a big supper with the main course being seafood casserole. She invited us both. He doesn't eat fish. On July 3rd of 1988, I finally worked up my nerve to ask him out. I went to the bar where he was working the door and led up to the line I had rehearsed, "So, when are you going to let me cook you something you'll eat?"
Our first date was July 5th, 1988 and we were married on November 26th, 1988. We are still married, childless by choice, and enjoying each other's company as friends and partners.

I believe it was "Gift of the Magi"
Where the two people are too broke to buy christmas presents for eachother...
So one sells her most prized posession to buy him something for his most prized posession.
But he also sold his thing... to buy her something for hers.
So both had new things to use their their most prized posession.... but not their most prized posession.
It says a lot to the idea of loving so much that you'd sacrafice what you hold most dear for them.
