In purest Smiddy (a derivative of Duranese and Frankie), to be like the wolf means to be in touch with the ground, to smell like one sounds. One might be on the hunt after one, mouth alive with juices like wine, straddling the line in discord and rhyme, but always hungry like the wolf. Do do do, do do do, do do do, do dododo dodo.

I am Turkish, and 'like a wolf' metaphor is used when you want to underline the huge appetite of a person. When it comes to 'like a bear' we use it for the rude people who think that the problems can be solved only via physical strength. And one more, cuz I just wanted to say, 'fox' metaphor is also used for cunning ones :) Hope this would help a little.
