Okay I'm sort of confused by the question but I think you are just saying that before Jesus was born where did people go? Well they went to the promise land, which was not heaven and not hell, that is why they had sacrafices before the ultimate sacrifce came, Jesus. So they didnt go to heaven they went to the promise land before Jesus came, then they went to heaven. so jesus came for them just as he will come back for us.

nope. the concept of being saved is new. and becoz of original sin, no one went to heaven before the Christ came to earth. All souls were kept in a waiting place that is neither hell nor heaven. remember Jesus himself went down to the dead for 3 days and freed the souls and opened the gates of heaven.
the Jews still await the messiah to open the gates of heven and no one, not even the prophets go to heaven
