i know that everytime we answer a question- we get points- but what are these points for? prizes? what for???

When U first join this u start with a certain amount of points. Everytime u ask a question it will cost u like 5 points. When u answer a question u get 2 points. So u want to answer questions so u can get points to ask questions. Thats it.

Just for the bragging rights that U are the yahoo answers points leader. The other day I got a new background screen from yahoo answers for scoring a certain amount of points.

We get points to enjoy looking at. When you get up to level 5 you can stop worrying about being selective on who you answer. Then, you will earn points like crazy! I've earned over 3,000 just this week! And, you know this site was shut down for a while, too!

the point system is in place so that you can go to the person with the highest points for the most honest answer to your question.
You will find that people with higher points give the best answers too.

I have no idea. I just have a lot to say and I like giving people advice. I am turning 17 and I am in that age where I love to talk. I like helping people. So, I don't know what these points are about. I just like giving advice!

you have to have points in order to ask a question. meaning you can't just ASK ASK ASK, you can help people out too and regain points. also, it defines the level you are at... for example i have 500 something points and its because i answer so many questions. i am at level 2.

u get kinda of "upgrades" 4 going into different levels by getting more points. its dumb, but the higher the level ur in, the more ques, answers, comments, and votes, u can do each day. idk what level ur in, but im in level 3. if ur in like level 1, u might only be able 2 ask like 5 ques per day, but in level 3 u can ask more like 20. same wit answering, voting, and comenting. its pretty confusing. hope i helped a little. and u can chose peeps as the best answers 2 ur ques 2 ya know....... :)

So we can move up in levels.... depending on your level limits how many question we can ask or answer....
I guess the idea is to keep control and make if like a fun goal to move up in yahoo answers...
