The old saying sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.
Yea I know its not true.
Some times you have to make enough noise to be herd, get loud with them.
And sometimes you have to fight, I'm not saying go beat them down just let them know you're not afraid of them.
Bullies pick on the weak so show them you're not weak.

Without knowing close to how young you and them are, the best way to stop anyone from teasing and picking on you I have found is to agree with them, or to take it beyond what they are saying. For example, if they were calling you brace face because you just got braces, I would say Yeah, you should see the radio reception I get now... Or something like its actually a nerd detector and then grin and point towards them... If they see that their picking and making fun isnt making you mad or angry, they will stop and go find someone else to pick on.
Unfortunately, bully's come in all shapes and sizes... even when you grow up they still exsist. Ignoring them may only make them pick on you more... If you are a girl, then you could always chase them after warning them you were going to kiss them if you caught them.... :D
As a last resort, you could always let someone at your school know their names and tell them that they are making you nervous when you walk home.
I too endured a lot of kids picking on me both in school and when I was on the way home. I dont suggest violence (hitting or fighting) but if you have the right to defend yourself. Try the other ways first... water ballons, and things like that may be another harmless answer... but if you are a girl, the kissing might make them run fast depending on how old they are.. if you are a boy, try talking with someone at the school if all else fails.
Take care and good luck,

Start picking on them. If they start to taunt, taunt back. If they continue, start walking up to them. If they run away, don't follow. If it happens again, just wait a couple of minutes. If they continue, taunt them. Do this three times, if they continue to bother you, chase after them and catch one. Don't hit him but make sure he gets your message, that the next time they taunt, you aren't going to take the matter lightly. If you can, try to make friends with the one you catch. He might pass the word that you are a good guy and they'll stop all together.

If they are saying mean, hurtful things about you, do what you can to ignore them. All they are looking for is a rise from you. That means, don't say anything to them, and do what you can to keep from showing emotion (especially crying) in front of them. I was always taught that if someone who is purposefully being mean to you sees you cry, you let that person win. Just know that you are a good person, who doesn't want to hurt others.

Honey be very funny all the time laugh at the mess they say and if they ask what you laughing at say your face. If they pick out 1 thing to pick with you about agree and add something funny. They will see they don't get to you and that you have a sense of humor that's far better than theirs. Don't let them hurt you and remember your looks change.
ask them "what's that in your eye? ~then say O thats evil. Say ~I rebuke evil. Then start callin them EVIL like that they name.

I was there, when I was younger too.
So I found out the best way to get to them is to act like they aren't bothering you at all. So just ignore them. And soon they will stop bothering you. Now if they are gettin physical towards you. let your parents know.

You should ignore them, that is the best way to take away the power they are trying to have over you. Eventually they will get sick of trying to get a rise out of you.

Violence and arguing doesn't solve anything. It just gets you into trouble. Tell your parents or a trusted adult about it. Don't let bullying get out of control.
