I'm not asking if it's legal or not. I'm not saying I'm going to do it or not. I just am very interested in it. You can keep your rude comments to yourself if you have any.

i would like some clarification on your question.
you are asking about polygamy (which is the practice of having more than one spouse at a time). do you mean polygyny (men having more than one wife), or polyandry (women having more than one husband)?
the reason i ask is because i'd like to answer your question, but it seems that most people who have answered your question have assumed that you meant Polygyny, when you actually used the word that is the broad version that encompasses both types.
if you decide which one you want to talk about, feel free to re-ask and i'll talk more with you about it.

I'm going to assume a couple things about the polygamous relationships you're talking about. You've already covered the legal aspect...
1) Everyone is near the same ages... (as in- no 50yr-old guy taking a 16-yr-old girl)
2) EVERYONE is consenting- men and women (all the women)
3) Everyone is smart enough to not contract any STD's.. If every woman were a virgin when she married, and (in a polygamous community) every man were a virgin when he married wife #1, you wouldn't have an STD problem.
Pro- There would be no "And all the nice guys are taken..." Yeah, he may be married, but he's not off the market. If you want to marry him, you can... if his first wife is ok with it. My understanding is that the first wife has to approve of #2, #1 and #2 must approve of #3, etc.
Con- I'd have to share my husband with another woman.
Pro- I'm not the only one he goes to at night...
Con- I'm not the only one he goes to at night...
Pro- Help around the house- housework, kids, income, etc
Con- He may be wealthy enough to afford a separate home for each wife, in which case, I'd be on my own when it comes to housework...

Watch Big Love, the first season finale was on HBO last Sunday, now it's on Demand. It's a great show that allows you a true glimpse into the polygamist lifestyle. The wives on the show are a lot like sisters (hence the term sister-wives), but since a hierarchy exists, there is jealousy and envy among them. I imagine that one major Pro is the warmth and joy of having a large, close-knit family. I'm sure one of the biggest Cons is having to live in secrecy, hiding who you are and essentially denying parts of your family. Do some research! There are plenty of academic studies and writings on polygamy. Good Luck!

Since it sounds like you are bisexual I think you and hubby could make it work if you find the right girl. I have heard of a lot of live together 3 somes, I guess some places would find it illegal if you look at the Slate Utah articles. A big con would be if anyone got jealous, can you love 2 people equally? Can you imagine 2 women with PMS at the same time? hehe, poor fella some times, lucky others.

pros- can you think of any?
cons- love is not meant to be spread thin in this way. it is interesting to note that the only countries who practice polygamy on the whole are 3rd world countries. Just a thought.
just think how you'd feel if you had to share the person you love the most w/ someone else?! Jealousy and insecurity could be bred from this sort of situation. You heart will tell you.

Cons: Against the law, difficult to manage the arrangement between the spouses, multiple children to provide for, you need to be rich or abuse welfare, not many women are in to it, polygamists tend to be child molesters because they marry underage girls and their "wives" are not especially willing, divorce would be a nightmare.
Pros: Wives of polygamists have said that sharing the housework/chores is helpful, just add another wife when you're bored with the ones you have, you can have a huge family with lots of kids.

It depends on what kind of twisted person you are. If you like having sex, they having multiple wives is great. But really, in the long run, having one wife is enough. I think it would hard, being a wife, knowing your husband is shacking up with another woman.

Sexual Diseases are often transmitted to those who practice it and there is a serious age issue directly associated with it as well.
Be very careful.
