Before coming to Yahoo! Answers, I had never heard the term. Exactly what are your beliefs? Is it similar to being Agnostic?

I guess my confusion comes from automatically associating spirituality with form of religion!

You called? ;-) :-) I am a spiritual atheist. I am one who does not believe in "god" or "goddess" or in the divinity of Jesus, but I do still practice a form of spirituality that helps me with my life. I like some of Jesus' teachings, I glean some wisdom from various religions and apply them to my life. That is spirituality, in my personal definition.

SOME, not all, atheists ARE spiritual to various degrees.

EDIT: In re: confusio; don't worry, that happens. We all learn something new everyday. :-)

I go through life trying to live as the best person I can be. I am kind to all, and don't seek out ways to be rude or nasty to anyone. I try to be one with my surroundings. Spirituality and religion are two seperate things. I don't buy into what the church and the bible tells us. Far two many holes for me. Why is the christian god the only god? The bible says that Christ tells us that only through him can we reach the father. Now tell me. Christ was VERY regional. Are you saying that all others during that time, before they heard of Christ were damned. NOT!!. See it doesn't make sense. It was almost two centuries before someone came to the Americas and discovered people already here. Did we just have two centuries of damned generations? That is kind of hard to swallow.

An athiest believes there is no God. An agnostic withholds belief on the grounds that they do not have enough information to make an informed decision - there might be and there might not be.
Spiritual is a belief in and possibly in collusion with unseen spiritual forces, not necessarily Godly, but possibly - it can go either way.
Demons "believe" in God and shudder according to the bible - they're in conflict with God.

Spiritual and religions are not synonymous. Thus, some spiritual athirst is one who is at peace with themselves and the universe and see the beauty and wonder in life without saying it a result of god.
