I'm subscribed to American Singles dating service. I met a intreging guy, we've been talking now for a week. At first our conversations were friendly, easy going discussions on our lives and places, etc. Then he started chatting about exotic sex acts in IM and over phone. How do I politely & intelligently, dismiss our encounters ? I appreciate everyone's adivice . Thank you so much!!!

Send a note: Dear X, It has been very nice getting to know you, but it seems to me that we simply are not as compatible as I had hoped. You have lots to offer, and I know you will find the person you deserve. I'm sorry to say that it is not me.

You could always be "conveniently" busy and don't have time to talk "right now". He'll eventually get the message and hopefully go off in other directions. I just hope he isn't a stalker, and I hope he can't get to or find your physical location. That could be bad! But you DO need to push him away subtly.

And please, let this be a warning about giving out your phone number. IMs and chat room relationships are impersonal and can be kept at a distance. Exchanging phone numbers takes the relationship to a whole new level, one you may not want.

If he is willing to start talking about things like that when you did nothing to start that conversation, then he has no regards for you and your feelings. Thus you dont need a polite way to break it off. You can email him and tell him that after thinking for a while that you have decided to pursue other endevors and you appreciate the time you spent with him.. That would be the best way to let him down

Just tell him u think he's a great guy but u are not interested.

If that doesnt work then tell him u found someone who could be the one for life. Make up a a guy with great qualities and talk about him constantly in e very situation until he starts becoming bored. Trust me he'll get the hint lol

Tell him politely, "I don't think we are on the same page. I am not looking for the same things you are from our conversations. I prefer if we didn't talk anymore". Of course he'll give some kinda rebuttle. Firmly stand you ground with "I don't want to talk anymore, sorry". Then block him from sending you messages online and don't answer his calls.

tell him that you things are coming up and that you cannot continue. If that doesn't work, tell him you don't want him anymore. Explain why. You sometimes need to be firm. If he didn't obey the first part, he needs a little firmness.

If that doesn't work, block his number and IM.

Just tell him you no longer want to continue with the relationship! Let him know he makes you uncomfortable...or just tell him he is moving way to fast and heavy for you! either that, or block his im's...and don't answer/return his calls...he will get the idea!

I would just explain to him that you aren't comfortable talking about that type of thing and that you apologize, but you'll have to break off the relationship.
