Not only did He claim it, He was prophesied to be as well as IS God. Not only did He claim it, He proved it with miracles and fulfilled prophecies.
A Child is to be born as a man who will be the Mighty God.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jehovah says that He and the coming Redeemer are eternal.
Isaiah 44:6
"Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer [Yeshua], the YHWH of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.'"
Jesus confirmed the above as well as His being the Almighty.
Revelation 1:8
Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Again, Who is the Redeemer? Who is the Savior? YHWH.
Isaiah 49:26
"All flesh shall know That I, YHWH, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
Before He was born, Jesus identified the trinity.
Isaiah 48:16
"Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His SPIRIT Have sent ME."
Three distinct personalities are seen in Jesus' baptism.
Matthew 3:16
When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Jews sought to stone Jesus for claiming to be the eternal.
John 8
“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Jesus says that He and the Father are ONE (heis in Greek which means literally the number 1) Jews seek to stone Him for claiming to be God incarnate.
John 10
"I and My Father are one."
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."
Jesus does not rebuke Thomas for calling Him God, but rather promises a blessing to those who would believe later.
John 20:28
And Thomas answered and said to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Paul confirms that Jesus is God.
Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men... looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Think about this. People must have accused Him of being God, when He claimed it. Did Jesus ever said, "Hey, everyone I am God." No, but Jesus did impliy it many times throughout the New Testament. A good example of this is when he said ,"I am, Iam" Most people think nothing of it, but what most people don't see is the main reason Jesus implied he was God. When the leaders heard this "I am" business, they were about to stone Him. Why would they stone him? Especially these men who hold the Old Testament to heart. Claiming to be God is blasmpmy, and deserves to be stoned. Claiming to be a god, would make the religious leaders just laugh, because this type of preaching was common and non-threating.

No---he always claimed to be God's Son. When he said that he and the Father were one,he meant that they were in agreement with each other. When a man and woman marry, they become as the Bible says,"one flesh". does this make them one person or are they two separate people who are in union with each other? Also,Jesus did not make mention of the holy spirit when he made that statement. The Bible also says that Jesus was the first angel God created.(Colossians 1:15;Rev.3:14)---God had no beginning.

He sure did, but it was always through indirect statements. For example he questions his disciples and asks them who do you say I am? And then his answers to them indicate his belief of himself. He performed miracles and then pretty much said that he could only do it with the power of God so people would believe in him and the one who sent him - especially bringing Lazarus back from the dead - which is what the Pharisees witnessed and the point at which they decided he was too much of a threat to them and to have him put to death. As far as I remember - he never said "I am God". He said "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life - no one comes to the Father but through me."

it seems like he really set them off by saying god was his father; they took this to mean that he was claiming equality with God.
John wrote:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
In the Hebrew language there are different words to designate GOD God god.

no he never claimed to be God. in fact he prayed to God. the only thing that comes close is when he says that if you have him you have seen the father. the father, not his father specifically. and didn't god make man in his image. Jesus being god is not only crap but i personally believe that the lie was conjured by the devil and spread though the religious community to create doubt.

The Jews didn't understand why Jesus had come.
Jhn 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
Jhn 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

no Jesus Christ never claimed to be god. when Jesus said that you seen me, you seen the Father, he meant that he was with Jehovah for billions of years before he was sent to the earth.
