It's all a matter of reaching boundries. putting people in their place. Much like an interview for a job, you put on your best face first then find out how to get around things and see how many pens you can steal from the office. If we all were real at the get go of a relationship, not many people would be in relationships. We seek compatability with others like ourselves and when we see someone who shares those qualities then there's a match. Games are a mutlitude of things to test ones limits, how much crap the other can take, putting people in their place within the relationship and other things as well. I agree, just be who you are up front and eventually you'll find someone who will respect you for that.

Because they are stupid. Guys and girls all play these games because the public says if you don't you won't keep that person. That is all bull, I think if you are truely in love with someone it will work just be real or it will come back to haunt you in the future. The person should like or love you for the real you. Or everything will seem so fake and not honest if you understand

I just recently started a new relationship. Its a relationship ive been "chasing" for almost 3 years....Now that i have it i tend to play "games"..I tend to see how far i can push my bf and what it would take to make him leave. None of this is intentional but i guess i do it because im not used to the situation. I play games with him before he can play games with me. I fear that letting down my guard will make me a perfect target for him to s.hit all over me.

It's the human way of life. We play games in everything. We only notice it more in relationships because it directly affects another human being. In the office, we play games with our colleagues, at home, as children, we play games with our parents. It's just life.

Because they aren't mature enough to enjoy the relationship at face value. They have to add drama to make it "ICE COLD/FIERY HOT" and to create their own sort of "excitement". What they don't realize is that they do this at the expense of their relationship and the other person. It's silly. I don't get it. If you have to play games in order to keep it interesting, them something (or someone) is wrong.
They need to grow up already.

Insecurity. That's why most women are thoroughly intimidated by me. I don't play, just lay it out there. They might not like some things I do or so, but they won't find a more honest dude!
